FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Welcome to the Asiansunny knowledge base. If you’re curious about our archive of Eastern grooves, you’ve come to the right place.
1. What is Asiansunny Records?
Asiansunny is a specialized archival project and digital crate-digging hub. We are dedicated exclusively to the preservation and celebration of Asian music from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. From Singaporean Garage to Japanese City Pop and Thai Psych and folk, we hunt for the rarest wax ever pressed in the East.
2. Why only Asian music?
While the West has its legends, the Asian underground of the 20th century remains a treasure trove of undiscovered genius. We focus on these regions to shine a spotlight on the Group Sounds, Psychedelic Soul, Disco, Traditional & Folclore movements that often went unnoticed by global mainstream audiences.
3. Can I buy these records here?
Asiansunny is primarily an archival and educational platform. We share the sounds, history, and artwork to keep the spirit of these artists alive. We do not currently operate as a commercial storefront, but we encourage you to support the original labels and artists wherever reissues are available!
4. How do you find these rare tracks?
Years of “dusty finger” digging! Sunnyboy66 scours old warehouses, private collections, and local markets across Asia to find the primitive beats and groovy soul tracks that define our sound.
5. Can I submit music or a request?
Absolutely! If you have a lead on a rare 7″ from the Taipei underground or a lost funk tape from Bangkok, we want to hear it. Use our Contact Us page to get in touch.
